Bucks score 3 in 9th to beat Senators

The Bozeman Bucks scored three runs in their last at-bat to overcome an 8-6 deficit for a 9-8 Class AA Legion win over the Helena Senators in Bozeman on Saturday.

In a back-and-forth contest, Helena came from behind twice — down 3-1 after three innings and 6-4 after seven frames — and pushed across four runs in the top of the eighth stanza to take a two-run lead into the ninth.

But the Senators couldn’t hold the advantage, and slip to 9-5 on the year.

Five Helena players knocked two hits apiece: Brett Jacobs (double, three RBIs), Eamonn Byrne, Kienan Stief, Ray Moore Jr. (double, RBI), and Payton Pappas (RBI).

The three Senators pitchers in the contest were Carter Pappas, Tanner McMahon and Andrew Rosston.
