The Helena Reps dropped their first game of 2016 with a doubleheader split with the Bitterroot Bucs on Saturday.
In game one, Bitterroot’s Liam LeCoure was dominant on the mound, only allowing three hits, a double by Carter Wald, a Keenan Horn triple, and a RBI infield single by Kellan Elder. On the mound, Ty McGurran was terrific for the Reps, giving up 3 runs in 5 innings, but was saddled for the loss.
Game two was a different story, as the Reps broke out with 13 runs on 17 hits. Wald (3-3, 2 RBI), Andrew Rosston (4-5, 2 RBI), Elder (3-4), Conor McCarvel (2-3), and McGurran (2-5) each had multi-hit games. Grady Koenig added a three run, bases-clearing, two out triple in the Reps big seven run 4th inning as well. Riley Chisolm (5.0) and Keaton Ralston (2.0) teamed together on the mound with Chisolm getting the win.
The Reps move to 8-1 on the year.
