After winning their second game in the consolation bracket of the Southern A District Legion Tournament, the Helena Reps were ousted from the tourney in their next outing on Saturday night.
Helena beat No. 1 Dillon 6-5, before being bounced by No. 2 Belgrade, 18-7.
The Reps’ big inning against Dillon was the third, when they pushed across five runs, and then added another marker for a 6-3 advantage after four complete frames.
Helena outhit the Cubs 12-10, led by Conor McCarvel’s 4-for-5 effort, and a pair of RBIs each by Brett Jacobs and Riley Chisholm. Carter Wald and Ty McGurran also had two hits apiece. Nik Jemmings, Jacobs and McCarvel shared the mound work for the Reps, with Jemmimgs recording the win.
In the season-ending loss to the Bandits, the winners amassed 18 hits, powered by Trey Mounts who went 4 for 5 with a triple and four RBIs. Colton Charnholm pitched the win.
Kellan Elder (3-4, double four RBIs), Jacobs (2-5, two RBIs) and Wald (2-5) paced the Reps’ 11-hit performance. Helena used five pitchers, with Wald taking the loss.
Coach Jon Burnett’s Reps went 2-2 in the tourney, and finish the year at 44-16.
