The Helena Reps fattened up their batting averages against the Lethbridge Giants in the final game of the night on the second day of the Cloninger Classic, pounding out 19 hits while shellacking the Babe Ruth team from Canada 22-0 in five innings.
Spearheading the hitting clinic with three hits apiece were Ryan Arntson (double, three RBIs), Colin Sassano (double, two RBIs) and Andrew Rosston (double, two RBIs). Those with two base knocks each were Ray Moore (two RBIs) and Carter Wald (RBI). Seth Schneider chipped in with a two-bagger and a pair of RBIs, while Robert McCarvel drove in a couple of runs.
Reps pitchers Tanner McMahon and Max Neilsen combined to throw a 2-hitter against Lethbridge.
There will be five games played today, Saturday, at Kindrick Legion Field, with the Reps taking the field twice, at 12:30 p.m. versus the Lethbridge Miners, and again at 8 p.m. against Mission Valley.
