Reps’ season ends in close loss to Laurel

The Laurel Dodgers ended the Helena Reps season at the Class A State American Legion Tournament in a back-and-forth battle, with the Dodgers coming out on top 4-3.

In the sixth, Arntson again came up big with an RBI single to plate Tanner McMahon to knot the game at two. Laurel jumped to the lead again, and Helena tied it at three all on an RBI single by Robert McCarvel, scoring Sassano.

But Laurel moved ahead on a wild pitch by Tristan Siegers in the bottom of the seventh, and the game ended in a 4-3 Dodgers win.

The Reps outhit the Dodgers 13 to 6, with McCarvel going 4-5, Sassano 3-5, and Arntson 3-5. But the Dodgers were able to get outs in key situations.
