The Helena Reps split a pair of Class A Southern District Conference game in Helena on Friday, falling 6-4 in game one before bouncing back with a convincing 15-8 win in the second game.
In game one, the Reps had a chance to complete a comeback, as they had the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but the Cubs were able to turn a game-ending double play.
Offensively, the Reps were led by Andrew Rosston (double) and Riley Chisholm (2 RBI), each collecting 3 hits a piece, with Kellan Elder adding a pair of hits as well. Brett Jacobs took the loss on the mound.
In game 2, the Reps were aided by the Cubs issuing 10 walks. Rosston again added a couple of hits, while Talon Burchard and Elder each contributed 3 RBI and Carter Wald scored three times on a hit and 3 walks.
Ty McGurran, Nik Jemmings, and Chisholm teamed up on the mound, with Jemmings going 4 2/3 innings and picking up the win.
Jon Burnett’s Reps move to 4-1 in conference play and 18-5 overall. They next play a pair of conference doubleheader games verses the Anaconda A’s on Saturday beginning at 5:00 PM.
