Reps storm back to sweep Braves

The Helena Reps swept the Livingston Braves on Sunday 5-4 and 8-7 in Livingston, Montana.

In the game one, Helena trailed 4-0 in the sixth when a RBI single by Andrew Rosston, a RBI walk by Eamonn Byrne, and a RBI single by Kellan Elder cut the lead to 4-3. Then in the eighth, Tanner McMahon‘s bunt single and a subsequent error by the Braves scored Rosston and Elder helped the Reps take a 5-4 lead, which they never relinquished.

Offensively for the Reps, Elder and Rosston led the way, each going 3-4 with an RBI.

Caleb Jackson and Byrne pitched for the Reps, with Byrne getting the win. He allowed just one run on four hits over five innings.

In game two, the Reps jumped out to a 7-0 lead on the Braves before holding on to a 8-7 win.

Taylor Carlson got the win for the Reps despite allowing seven runs on seven hits over 4 1/3 innings, striking out four. Rosston pitched the final 2 2/3 innings, shutting down Livingston by giving up no runs on 1 hit. He forced Tristen Jenkins to pop out to end the game with the tying run on third.

Helena pounded out 13 hits against the Braves, with Conor McCarvel having a 4-5 day and Talon Burchard (triple), Ray Moore (double), Brett Jacobs each contributing 2 hits a piece.

The Reps record now stands at 22-9 on the year.
