Reps sweep Lakers in comeback wins

May 2, 2016

The Reps swept Kalispell at home on Sunday in a pair of dramatic come-from-behind wins, 5-4 and 3-2. Coach Jon Burnett’s Reps stay unbeaten at 5-0 on the year.

In game one, Taylor Carlson hit a walk off in the 8th inning and finished 3 for 4 at the plate with two RBIs. Kellan Eller added a couple of hits for the Reps. Brett Jacobs, Carter Wald and Andrew Rosston shared Helena’s pitching duties in the curtain-raiser, with Rossten garnering the win. Wald twirled 4 2/3 innings of stellar scoreless middle relief, surrendering just two hits.

In game 2, the Reps only managed 3 hits, but Caeden Suero’s clutch bases-clearing, three-run triple for the Reps in the 4th inning proved to be enough. Carlson was the only other Helena player to gather a hit, going 2 for 3.

Nik Jemmings and Riley Chisholm collaborated on the bump, with Jemmings collecting the win. Jemmings worked five innings of 5-hit ball, allowing two unearned runs and striking out two with no walks. Chisholm earned the save.

The Reps open their conference season at home on Friday with the doubleheader against Deer Lodge on Friday, May 6, 2016.
