The Helena Reps took the first game in the Class A division of the Missoula Memorial Day Tournament besting the host team, the Missoula Mavs, 6-4 on Friday.
With the game tied at 4-4 in the top of the 6th, Carter Wald hit a go-ahead single up the middle, scoring Ty McGurran. Caeden Suero then tagged a line drive single to left, scoring Conor McCarvel, as an insurance run.
The heart of the Reps order powered the offense for Helena, with McCarvel, Wald, Suero, and Andrew Rossten all collecting a multi-hit game. Catcher Keanan Horne also reached base 3 times (1 hit, 2 walks) in the win. Helena pounded out 13 hits collectively.
Brett Jacobs pitched a complete game for the Reps, only allowing one earned run on five hits, striking out five. The win moves Jacobs to 3-0 on the season.
Coach Jon Burnett‘s Reps stand at 15-2 on the season. They next play the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen at 5:30pm on Saturday in Ogren Park at Allegiance Field in Missoula.
