Reps split in Kalispell

The Helena Reps split their Class A Legion baseball twin bill with Kalispell on the road Sunday, besting the A Lakers 12-6 in the curtain-raiser, before being edged in extra innings 8-7.

Coach Jon Burnett’s Reps now stand at 11-2 on the year.

Caeden Suero and Grady Koening paced Helena’s offense on the day, going 5 for 9, and 5 for 7 (with 2 walks), respectively. Ty McGurran was 3 for 5 in the first game, and Andrew Rosston and Riley Chisholm collected a pair of hits in game two. Carter Wald collected 3 hits and posted a team-high four RBIs on the day, while Suero and Keanan Horne drove in a pair of runs each.

Brett Jacobs, Caleb Shamley and Riley Chisholm shared the pitching duties in the opener, with Shamley collecting the win. In the nightcap, which Kalispell won in the bottom of the ninth frame on an infield error, Reps hurlers Keaton Ralson, McGurran and Wald collaborated on the mound work, with Wald being saddled with the tough loss.
