Senators offense unleashed in sweep of Butte

The Helena Senators collected their first wins of the young 2016 season with a doubleheader sweep over the Butte Miners on Saturday afternoon in Butte, Mont.

In game one, the Senators pounded out 17 hits on 14 runs with Ray Moore and Carter Pappas each going 3-5. Ryan Artson, Ryan Dorvall, and Eamonn Byrne also had multi-hit games. Koby Griffin, Tanner McMahon, and Tristan Siegers teamed up on the mound, with McMahon getting the win. Siegers threw 2 innings of scoreless ball, keeping the Miners hitless in the last two frames.

In game two, the offensive attack continued, led by Koby Griffin (4-5) and a number of Senators collecting 2 hits a piece. Ryan Dorval, Henry Bowers, and Carter Pappas teamed to shut down the Miners offense.

The Senators moved to 2-3 on the season. They will host the Missoula Mavs on Wednesday in their home opener at Kindrick Legion Field.
