HELENA — The Helena Senators defeated the Missoula Mavericks 9-3 in a nonconference Class AA American Legion baseball game on Wednesday night at Kindrick Legion Field.
They used a six-run sixth inning to take control of the game and break up a 2-2 tie. There were three singles, four walks and a Missoula error that led to the big inning.
Helena pounded out 11 hits on the game and committed only one error. Matt Krieger led the team with a 4-for-5 day and three runs scored.
Ethan Keintz went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Hunter Lindgren drove in two runs and Hunter Kirkpatrick scored twice.
