Helena - A season north of the border playing for Vauxhall Academy has reigning Class AA state tournament MVP Aaron Fuzesy carrying a changed mindset, one that generates less anger at mistakes made during games.

Fuzesy described his Vauxhall experience as one of the best choices of his life and said he enjoyed his time in Canada more than he originally believed he would.

“Usually, I get really mad during games and that kinda weighed me down a little bit,” Fuzesy said.

“They finally figured me out and talked to me about the mental game and approach and got me really straightened out.”

Fewer ups and downs mean fewer performance peaks and valleys for a player who struggled to harness undeniable talent.

First-year Senator JR Huschka achieved the eight-run rule after five innings with a single in the sixth.

Feeling something akin to the joy of a tied-game walk-off, Huschka was one of nine different Senators to collect a hit Friday.

“Nothing like it,” Huschka said. “It’s kinda like what you go for in baseball, the big moment…

“It’d be a little bit different if it wasn’t a run-rule, but it still feels good.”
