HELENA — Top seed privileges for the 2024 Class AA American Legion Baseball state tournament will be fought for in the regular-season's final week.

The Helena Senators (38-14) matched the Billings Scarlets at 16-4 with 6-5 and 8-3 victories over Kalispell Sunday. Helena owns the head-to-head tiebreaker, so should each program win out, the Senators would earn the No. 1 seed in a tournament to be played on their home field.

Sunday’s victories, both come-from-behind in nature, halted a two-game skid.

A pair of three-run innings erased a 4-0 Kalispell Game 1 advantage, and while the Lakers moved the tying run within 90 feet in the seventh, Helena’s eventual Game 2 starter Tyler Beaver earned the four-pitch, one-out save.

A seven-run fifth inning was the difference for Helena in Game 2.
